I loved this product. It was built to cool off one room. And so far, this that's exactly what it has done. It Answered all of my summer problems.

Great choice if you have crank windows that open outward. The disadvantage with crank windows is that a air conditioner can not be installed in the window. I purchased this product approx. one month ago for my bedroom. I do have central air but it does not cool the second floor as well as I would like. This product was to assist my central, and although I find it to be adequate it was yet to be able to reach the desired temp, regardless of how long it is on.

Let me just point out some things that some reviewers are whining about. 1. Noisy - Very normal, You think a window unit is quiet? Solution - Get an outside unit and pay big bucks to the installer. 2. Vent is a pain - Are you kidding me? A 10 year old can work around fitment issues! Tips - make sure the screws from the hose connector to actual vent is secured by a screw with bushings to hold it in place. - make sure you put a stainless screen outside to prevent objects from going into the unit. 3. Reliability - Come on lets face it, everything breaks including/especially my heart. Tips - Dont fall in love too easy :P Seriously Tips - Dont keep on moving the damn thing, let it stay in one corner. - When leaving the house for an extended period, unplug it.

Got this to cool my bedroom, because if it gets windy I can't open the window unless I want the wind to take it lol. Added some water, tray of ice and it got the job done fast and nice. When I am not using water, I pop a ice pack on the top compartment and it still cools the bedroom just as good :)

side by side with a fan showed no output difference. loaded up with ice and water and noticed very little difference. Wish I had returned it within the 30 day period. Oh well it is a quiet fan

This is a great little machine that even an old lady can operate! Here in the Southwest corner of the US our temps can reach 110, as they did a week ago. The little Sunpentown was steadily pumping 67 degree air into our living room. We use the Sunpentown as a "crutch" to our 4 ton A/C, running them both at the same time. With the Sunpentown, however, the A/C cycles off and stays off for longer periods of time, saving us lots of dough all the while! If you live in an area where humidity runs 50% or less, this will be effective in your home.

This is a great little cooler that will cool down a small to medium size room. It is quiet, small, making it easy to roll around. There is even a compartment for ice cubes, should you desire to use them. We used them - just to check it out - and it cooled the room even more. Overall, it is quiet, efficient, easy to maneuver and affordable.

Save your money. The only possible cooling you may get from this unit is if you have a refrigerator carton you can get in, (ask your kids) and take this "cooler" with you. This unit would benefit greatly from liquid nitrogen cooling. Of the two units, only one arrived undamaged. The unit is fairly quiet, except when the 'SWEEP' is turned on. Then, it sounds like someone in the room rocking on an old rocking chair.

Whilst American's come to Canada for the healthcare, Canadian's come to America for the sweet Miallegro fans. Ordered and sent to a mailbox, came on time as promised, and the product is exactly as listed. It's one of the slickest fans I have ever seen. The one thing that I was uncertain about from the description was the black portion between the brushed metal - it's plastic, not steel as it may appear to some. Fairly quiet and performs fan stuff, as expected. I wouldn't usually write a review, but Miallegro actually called me a few days after I had received the fan to ask if I was satisfied with the product and see if there was anything they could help me with. Superb customer service! I hold their products and customer care in high esteem and will certainly buy from them again. John

I bought this fan to cool down my office since the sun tends to bake it in the afternoon. So far, I've really liked its functionality and design. It does a great job of pushing lots of air and goes well with a modern interior. It doesn't blow air high up, but for an office or living room it's fine since you want the air lower anyways. One feature that I really like is the timer - I forget to turn it off at the end of the day, but I can set the timer in the morning to shut off after 8 hours.

Really helps with my sleep apnea. Making good use of the various times so I can set it for a nap or a full night's sleep. The Unistar 4 in 1 air cooler is a product I'll use year round.

This was a waste of money if you are really hot. I live in TX and my Central AC went out and I was looking for a solution to make it through the last month of summer. I bought this for my 11 year olds room - he can barely feel the air even when he is sitting right in front of it with water and ice in it!! A box fan would have worked better.

Broke after the third day of having it. it'll blow some cool air, but it's a waste of time putting ice in it because there is no difference in the temp of the air it blows. got it plugged in right now, it's blowing cool air right now. but other than that, it dont work.

I bought this little unit for my office desk, which is in a completely mirrored and barely insulated building, giving it the "ant in magnifying glass" effect in the afternoons. It gets up into the 90's in here in the afternoon and I was going home with clothes wet from sweat every day. I bought this unit for just my desk, which is in a large open area, knowing that it wouldn't make a difference in the whole room but hoping it would just keep me personally from sweating. It does a wonderful job, even being in Alabama, where you'd think adding humidity to the air would be a no-no. It seems like once it gets as humid as it is here, though, this thing could no more humidify this room than it could cool the whole thing. Anyway, I find that techni-ice packs, which you can also get on Amazon, work best with it. They last all afternoon so I just have to refill the water once but can keep the same ice packs. Last but not least, Kaito was great to work with. Great customer service, fast delivery, and when the ice packs were missing with the original order, they sent them priority with no questions asked. I was very satisfied with my purchase of the Unistar 4-in-1 desktop fan/cooler/humidifier/ionic air purifier. The unit will hold up to three small dry ice packs. Two dry ice packs are included with the unit. The air cooling feature does not go on when using dry ice packs. The fan mode works with the dry ice packs. Putting water and ice in the reservoir cooled the air effectively with the cooling feature. The unit should not be expected to cool a large area. The oscillation feature is a big plus. I actually would have been too cool with the air flowing directly towards me in one direction.

This Unit does pretty well for the price. For those of us with windows that do not fit well with regular AC units, this is a good alternative. There are three adapter plates that fit together to fill the rest of the window opening, it will fill an opening approximately 5 feet high by 8" wide, or an area 5 feet wide by 8" high. You attach the hoses to the unit, and then attach the plates to the other end of the hoses. You open your window, then put the plates into the window, and close the window back onto the plates. There are TWO hoses (about 6" diameter) and the hoses are only about 4 feet long. This makes it a bit difficult to place the adapter plates in a window, but it can be done. Also, there is no gasket around the plates which leaves a small air gap. As I use this with my sliding glass door (which is 7 feet tall), I had to fill the 2 foot gap between the top of the plates and the top of my door. This all works, but leaves me thinking that i could have designed a better hose/plate assembly. The AC unit itself is great. When the temperature was in the 90's it cooled a fairly large room down into the upper 70's, and when the temperature got over 100, this unit cooled the room down enough to be bearable, down to about 86 degrees I think. All in all I am happy with the AC unit. the hose/plate assembly leaves something to be desired, or I would have rated this a 5 star.

Overall, I have been very satisfied with the cooling ability of the unit. Out of the box, it was simple to set up and install, although the included window exhaust adapter is not high quality (easy enough to make a solid one yourself). The unit has been working nights with outside temperatures between 80 and 85 and easily brings the indoor temperature of our bedroom down to 68 while the rest of the house is set to 78 on the central AC. Pros: cost; low noise; dual hose essentially eliminates the need to drain the unit; cooling ability. Cons: poor window adapter
